Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and MaintenanceSupport Activities for Road TransportationTechnical and Trade SchoolsMachinery, Equipment, and Supplies Merchant WholesalersSpecialized Freight TruckingSummary: Inspect, maintain and repair construction vehicles and heavy equipment/machinery using hand and power tools and appropriate lifting equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Repair and replace damaged or worn partsDismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand toolsOperate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defectsTest mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specificationsClean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehiclesRead and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawingsOverhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiencyFit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipmentDiagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devicesExamine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges Education and Experience: High school diploma preferredMinimum of two years relevant experienceCandidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination.
