Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Poughkeepsie, New York

This role offers an opportunity for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support students in a dynamic educational setting near New Paltz, NY. The position starts immediately and continues at least through the remainder of the school year, with potential for extension based on needs.Key Responsibilities:Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across multiple school locations (ranging from 2 to 8)Manage a caseload averaging 20-30 instructional sessions weekly, tailoring services to individual student needsCollaborate with educational staff and families to develop and implement effective learning strategiesMaintain accurate records and progress reports in compliance with district and state guidelinesParticipate actively in team meetings and professional development opportunitiesQualifications and Experience:Valid New York State Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching Certification is requiredProven experience working with school-age children who are deaf or hard of hearingStrong communication skills, including ability to work effectively across multiple sitesAbility to manage a flexible schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)Location:Based near New Paltz, NY, with travel between locations as neededBenefits and Perks:Competitive pay commensurate with experienceComprehensive benefits package including 401(k) and insurance optionsThis contract position offers a meaningful chance to make a difference while gaining valuable experience within the field of Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
