Job Role: Hardware Design EngineerJob Location: San Jose CAJob Description & Skill Requirement:Senior Hardware Design Engineer with extensive expertise in embedded hardware design, high-speed digital systems, power electronics, FPGA-based platforms, and product development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across the complete product lifecycle from requirements of definition and architecture through design, validation, compliance testing, and production release.This role requires strong technical leadership, system-level thinking, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineering.Key ResponsibilitiesHardware Architecture & DesignCandidate should be able to drives end-to-end development of high-level architecture of FPGA platform and translates platform-level requirements to circuit and component-level specifications.Define hardware architecture, block diagrams, and design specifications for embedded systems.Experience with successfully implementing various high-speed memory, Video, IO, and network interfacesDesign analog, digital, mixed-signal, FPGA-based, and high-speed electronic boards.Develop schematics, BOMs, PCB stack-ups, and design documentation.Perform component selection considering performance, reliability, cost, and lifecycle requirements.Design and validate power supply circuits, power distribution networks & Power integrity designs.EDA tool exposure ( Concept HDL, OrCAD, Allegro, Ansys, Hyper Lynx)Product DevelopmentReview of the multi-disciplinary platform-level (Lz) requirements and translating into design.Participate in requirements gathering, feasibility analysis, effort estimation, and project planning.Drive end-to-end product development from concept through production release.Support new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing transfer activities.Coordinate with vendors for component procurement, PCB fabrication, and assembly.Board Bring-Up & ValidationLead hardware bring-up, debugging, and system integration activities.Conduct functional testing, design verification testing (DVT), and system testing.Perform power integrity, timing analysis, signal integrity evaluation, and root-cause debugging.Collaborate closely with firmware teams for interface validation and troubleshooting.Hands on experience on different instrument like oscilloscope, logic analyser and other equipmentVerilog experience and working with Quartus design tools is a plusHands-on debugging skills is a mustCompliance & ReliabilityDevelop EMI/EMC test plans and support certification activities.Ensure compliance with industrial safety, reliability, and regulatory standards.Analyze test failures and implement corrective design improvements.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with firmware, software, mechanical, CAD, manufacturing, and quality teams.Participate in technical reviews and customer discussions.Prepare technical documentation, design reports, and engineering release packages.Required Technical SkillsHardware DesignAnalog, Digital, and Mixed-Signal DesignHigh-Speed Board Design and DebuggingFPGA-Based System DesignPower Supply Design - Good to haveEmbedded Hardware DevelopmentSignal Integrity and PCB Design - Overview understandingBachelor's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (or equivalent).10+ years of experience in embedded hardware design and product development.Proven experience in industrial, consumer, medical, or related product domains.Strong understanding of PCB stack-up, routing guidelines, EMI/EMC, reliability, and manufacturing processes.Experience with board bring-up, system integration, and production support.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills
