Staff Accountant
The Accountant plays a key role in supporting the financial health of assigned locations by analyzing financial activity, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure timely and accurate reporting. This position works closely with field leadership and management to explain results, resolve issues, and support audits and compliance-related filings.Analyze monthly financial statements for assigned locationsCommunicate financial results to field managersPrepare and enter journal entries related to monthly close activitiesRecord manual accruals for major accountsResearch and explain significant variances to budgetPrepare narratives based on margin resultsReconcile data from internal and external interfacesMonitor and clear suspense accountsMaintain, monitor, and review reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accountsAssist with the preparation and filing of tax, franchise, and informational returnsSupport cost report preparation and filingAssist with interim and year-end auditsKeep management informed of unusual accounting issuesQUALIFICATIONSQualified candidates must have a minimum of three years of accounting experience in healthcare or related environment.Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP).Ability to work on various assignments simultaneously and communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing with department heads, managers, coworkers and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within an automated systems as well as a variety of software packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word.EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred.
