Barista - Corporate CafJob Category: OperationsCompensation: $19-$22 per hour | Full-TimeSchedule: Monday-Friday: either 6a-2:30p (opener) or 8a-4:30p (closer)DescriptionAs a Barista in this role, you'll provide friendly, efficient service to employees, visitors, and staff by preparing and serving coffee, beverages, and light food items in a corporate setting. You'll maintain a clean and welcoming caf environment, follow food safety standards, and ensure timely service in a fast-paced setting. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with others to support a positive experience for all guests.What You'll DoOperate a cash register with an accuracy of 99.85% (plus or minus).Set up appropriate cashier bank.Document cash received and charges made.Identify customer needs and refer them to the appropriate department for follow-up when necessary.Educate customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions.Prepare and sell coffee drinks by following recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino.Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies etc. for the coffee bar.Stock refrigerators with beverages, condiments etc.Clean, sanitize, polish general work areas, this includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and throwing trash.Prepare and gather items needed for meal service.Provide exceptional service to all guests.Understand workplace standards for dress, behavior, and hygienePerform basic math (e.g., addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals)Communicate clearly in English (spoken and written)Deliver friendly, efficient customer serviceFollow written and verbal instructions with attention to detailBe able to lift heavy items and stand for extended periodsFollow time schedules for food prep and servicePerform other duties as assigned.What You Will BringHigh School Diploma/GEDPrior experience working as a Starbucks barista highly preferred6 months previous experience in a customer service roleServSafe Certification and State Food Handlers CardAbility to pass a criminal background check and drug screenPhysical and Sensory RequirementsThis job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may occur.
