NC Programmer

Job Description CNC ProgrammerThe CNC programmer works within the Engineering Department to create and evaluate existing CNC programs for vertical and horizontal lathes, and multi-axis milling machines.Specific Responsibilities:Ability to create and evaluate and improve existing CNC programs for vertical and horizontal lathes, and multi-axis (4-5 axis) milling machines.Solid understanding of feeds and speeds for aerospace materials.Be a team player for all lean activities continuous improvement projects.Tool selection and process layout on a consistent basis, working with customers to ensure work can be accomplished.Create shop floor documentation including operation sheets and work instructionsIdentify and implement cost reduction initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing techniquesSpecial Skills: Must be accustomed to deadlines and accountabilityExperience with complex aerospace parts including milling and turning processesUnigraphics NX experienceLean manufacturing techniquesEffective time management skills including multi-taskingAbility to read blueprints. Speak and write reports in English.High attention to detail.
