Job Title: Seibi Technician / Engineering Technician - Battery Production EngineeringLocation: Liberty, North CarolinaWork Arrangement: 100% OnsiteTravel: Up to 30% Domestic / Occasional InternationalOvertime: Up to 30% (weekends, holidays, shutdowns as required)OverviewProduction Engineering Battery Department is seeking a highly motivated Seibi Technician / Engineering Technician to support machine installation, equipment integration, technical troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities for advanced battery manufacturing operations.This role serves as part focused on improving Operation Availability (OA), supporting capital project execution, and ensuring production equipment is optimized from installation through Start of Production (SOP).This is a highly hands-on technical engineering support role requiring strong electrical troubleshooting, industrial equipment modification, machine validation, and launch support experience within a manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute initial machine setup, adjustment, and production integration activities for battery manufacturing equipmentSupport capital equipment projects from planning, installation, commissioning, and Start of Production (SOP)Troubleshoot, repair, and modify industrial electrical systems including:relay logicmotorscircuitswiringservo drivesmachine controlsDiagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic machine systemsPerform machine leveling, alignment, quality confirmation, and assigned equipment adjustmentsSupport vendor machine trials and internal Toyota machine trials to validate functionality and production readinessIdentify technical deficiencies, develop corrective action plans, and track closure to completionImprove machine safety, quality, productivity, and operational availability through root cause problem solving and kaizen activityCertify equipment safety compliance using Toyota "White Kanban Check" standardsDevelop and manage detailed schedules for assigned machine areas and project tasksComplete work documentation and reporting using written and electronic methodsWork cross-functionally with engineering, construction, contractors, and production teams to remove project barriers and meet launch milestonesRequired Qualifications5+ years of Industrial Controls / Engineering Technician experience in a manufacturing environment5+ years of hands-on electrical troubleshooting and repair of industrial production equipmentStrong experience supporting:equipment installationmachine modificationmachine optimizationcommissioning/startupWorking knowledge of industrial electrical systems, machine controls, relay logic, wiring, motors, and servo systemsExperience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems with the ability to read technical schematicsStrong understanding of multi-trade industrial equipment work and ability to identify deficiencies and drive corrective actions to closureExperience developing schedules, prioritizing technical work, and reporting project statusAbility to support overtime, holidays, shutdowns, and weekend project activityAbility to travel up to 30% for vendor trials and Toyota support activityPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, or related technical fieldExperience supporting pre-production equipment setup / launch activityExperience gathering and analyzing quality or equipment performance data for root cause analysisExperience in high-volume automated manufacturingClean room manufacturing exposure highly preferredToyota, automotive battery, EV, or advanced manufacturing experience is a plusIdeal Candidate BackgroundThis role is best suited for candidates coming from:Seibi Technician backgroundsIndustrial Engineering Technician rolesLaunch / Commissioning Technician rolesControls Maintenance Technician roles with project installation experienceBattery / Automotive Manufacturing Equipment Technician rolesIndustrial Electrical Technician roles supporting capital equipment startup
