Laboratory Technician

Support Needs:Sample Preparation and Testing:Prepare samples of finished products and trial prototype materials.Test Method Development:Develop methods to support testing of finished products and prototypes.Safety Documentation:Create safe work documentation for existing and new laboratory equipment.Operation Support:Provide operational support for prototype equipment.Key Responsibilities:Living Safely:Participate in monthly safety meetings.Ensure compliance with safety procedures and corporate policies.Identify safety hazards in the work environment and propose solutions.Lead and assist in writing safety documents, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).Participate in lab organization and maintain daily housekeeping/cleaning of the work area.Sample Preparation/Testing:Prepare samples for laboratory and application testing.Conduct laboratory and application testing using established methods.Document testing results for communication with the project team.Prototype/Build/Operate:Operate prototype equipment during development trials.Collaborate with project engineers and leaders to meet build requirements for prototypes or testing equipment.Minimum Qualifications:Associate's degree in a science or engineering field.Experience in a laboratory environment.Required Experience:Demonstrated safe work practices.Comfort with operating laboratory and testing equipment.Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Windows and Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Basic understanding and application of statistics.
