Are you interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades but lack formal training or experience? This entry-level opportunity provides a direct pathway into Shipfitting, Pipefitting, or Welding at Electric Boat-home to the team that proudly builds the world's most advanced submarines!
No prior experience is required. Comprehensive, paid training is provided to help you develop the skills needed to join Electric Boat's highly respected Building Trades workforce.
Responsibilities (post-training) would be consistent with a role as an entry-level Shipfitter, Pipefitter, or Welder, including but not limited to the following:
Participation in continuous training in traditional and new processes, using both conventional and state-of-the art equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
Utilizing an assortment of hand and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret written policies, procedures, and guidelines as work assignments will be accomplished using company drawings, test documents, technical manuals, and shipyard procedures.
Basic mathematic ability.
Additional tasks, as assigned.
