In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of carpenters that perform various new builds, renovations, and maintenance tasks across the Chelsea Piers property. This role reports to the Site Operations Manager. Your primary work location will be at our flagship Chelsea location, but there may be occasional work at our other NYC facilities. This is a working lead role, not strictly supervisory.As the skilled Lead Carpenter, you will be expected to:Manage and facilitate extensive maintenance and project task listsOversee general maintenance of facilityCoordinate with Site Operations Manager for special projects on a daily basisSupervise skilled carpenters and general maintenance employees and schedule required work to achieve timely and efficient completion of workMaintain cleanliness of shop and proper function of all equipment and tools.Ensure all employees are working in a safe and proper manner including wearing and using all required safety gear, harnesses, and eye protectionCommunicate and report any incidents or problems that arise in completing work assignmentsPlan and order materials for the efficient completion of work assignmentsConduct daily inspections of site and prepare work repair lists, which should be submitted to Site Operations ManagerThis is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities. This can change at any time at the discretion of your supervisor.QualificationsYou have at least 10 years of experience in maintenance or construction environments. You also have:Valid NYS driver's licenseOSHA-10 and OSHA-30 certifications (or willingness to obtain).Certification for ladder, scissor lift, and scaffolding safety (or willingness to obtain).Flexible availability, including occasional holidays, weekends, and overnight work.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.General Hours are 7am-3pm. Nights, Weekends, and Holidays may be required
