1st Shift $24.40 hourly
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This individual will be using and working around all types of woodworking equipment. This will include sharp high-speed tooling.

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Pass drug screen.
Pass pre-employment tests.
Pass pre-work ability screen, if required for position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Flexibility of work hours including mandatory OT when business needs requires.
Ability to move to different lines and responsibilities if required.
Able to safely work with and around moving equipment

Regular / dependable attendance consistent with attendance guidelines is required.

Operate equipment/tools that require close control, adjustment, following production orders.

Perform Total Productive Maintenance duties.
Maintain good housekeeping.
All safety procedures must be followed.
Project work will include but not limited to building of carts, tables, work stations, cabinets, shelves, shadow boards, tool holders, work benches, cleaning stations, sheetrock, tile ceilings, and formica.
Ability to work off of sketches, drawings and prints.
Painting, staining, and varnishing will be required.
Support continuous improvement events will require flexible hours with extended hours when needed.
Ordering of all building materials within budget limits.
Must be licensed to operate forklift, manlift, and maintenance transport cart.
Be creative in implementing projects that will reduce cleanup time, cycle time and improve parts presentation.
Develop and implement projects to improve visual workplace throughout the plant.
Simple machine modifications involving welding, painting, drilling and tapping of holes.
Work with engineers/managers to keep project list prioritized and up-to-date.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Manufacturing-related experience is preferred.
Job specific experience is preferred.
Metal fabrication and welding skills desired.
SKILLS & TALENT
Decision making / problem solving in a manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.
Use of hand tools and machinery is required.
Requires written and oral communication skills and the cognitive ability to learn the safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Learn, comprehend and implement Lock Out/Tag Out and safety and quality procedures to assure the safe and proper operation of the equipment.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s using units of American money.
Familiarity with American units of measure for weight, time, and distance.
Read and interpret blue prints.
Use of measurement devices.
Ability to work at ceiling heights.
Ability to plan and schedule projects.
Proficient knowledge and use of computer software systems like Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Proficient knowledge of woodworking and metal processing tools and equipment such as welders, saws, hand tools, drills, nail guns and routers.
