Embedded Software Engineer

Position 3: Principal Embedded EngineerLocation: Lake Forest, CADuration: Full timeJob Description: Looking for an experienced embedded engineer who has worked in the medical deviceindustry on complex multi-processor-based systems as a “hands-on” individual contributorwith the following:Must Haves: 1. Experience developing embedded software for medical devices according toFDA/ISO regulations (including IEC 62304) and writing supporting design and testdocumentation.2. Ability to migrate ARM legacy code to new ARM Boards.3. Proficient in creating bootloaders and application code as well as developing devicedrivers.4. Proficient with RTOS (CMX, ThreadX, or similar) and RTOS based applications andmulti-threaded applications.5. Proficient programming in C++ and C targeting embedded modules.6. Experience with CAN, Ethernet, SPI, UART, I2C, ADC’s and DAC’s.7. Strong debugging skills at component-level designs on the PCBA or within anintegrated product and experience with simulation and debug tools (ex: CANoe,Lauterbach)8. Proficient in using lab equipment (logic analyzers, in-circuit emulators,oscilloscopes and DVMs) to debug and troubleshoot designs9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills10. Ability to read schematics as applicable to design and debugging efforts.11. Ability to work independently while collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs)to meet project schedule and project milestones.12. Ability to work on multiple projects with prioritizations aligned with projectdeliverablesNice to Have:1. Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle Management (SDLC).2. Experience with waveform generation, transducer signal sampling, motor controland other electromechanical control3. Experience in using static analysis, unit testing and other tools/methods.4. Experience using Git and Azure DevOps5. Experience working in a Continuous Integration (CI) environment6. Experience with Python for general purpose scripting7. Good interpersonal & Communication skills.Minimum Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering,or related field2. 6+ years hands on embedded software development experience3. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills4. Team player with demonstrated commitment to meeting schedule and projectmilestones.5.Good interpersonal & Communication skills to build positive departmental and interdepartmental relationships in a virtual, remote, and asynchronous environment.
