Agricultural Service Technician

Department: Service | Reports to: Service Manager | Supervises: N/A Purpose: Perform basic diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. This position may require occasional guidance from the Service Manager, Shop Foreman, or senior technicians. Responsibilities: Perform diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment, including AMS (Ag Management Solutions) products. Participate in ongoing training programs (e.g., John Deere Service EDUCATE) to advance technical skills. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of John Deere and competitor products. Ensure all vehicles, tools, and equipment are kept in proper condition. Keep the work area clean and organized to support safety and efficiency. Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company procedures. Accurately complete required reports and documentation for service tasks. Track time and materials accurately using approved systems. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Minimum 1 year of experience in service and repairs of ag or turf equipment. Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance using technical manuals and specialized tools. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as John Deere Service Advisor. Proficiency in basic computer operations and software. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to lift 75 lbs. or more repeatedly. Basic Service Technician certification preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
