The Environmental Educator conducts programs for educators and other special programs as required.Organizational Security Responsibilities: This position requires adherence to the organization'sinformation security policies and procedures. All employees share responsibility for protecting theconfidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's mission essential IT assets, regardless ofrole. Individuals in this role are expected to apply appropriate safeguards, participate in required securityawareness training, and promptly report potential security incidents in accordance with institutionalpolicies.QualificationsDuties:Implement educational programs and enhances lesson plans correlated to State and Next generation Science Standards (NGSS).Facilitate teacher-training workshops in house and in schools; develops and implements traveling programs to schools, nursing homes, libraries, and hospitals.Responds to public inquiries following established guidelines and contributes to team effort by completing tasks on an as needed assigned basis.Establishes liaison and maintains cooperative working relationships with MEC staff whose functions impact on assigned responsibilities. These include environmental educators, Assistant Directors, School District Coordinator and the NJMC.Consults with supervisor on a regular basis to report progress on assignments, to report problems, and to resolve problems.Wear designated uniform shirts when presenting a program to school groups and the public.ExperienceOne year of professional experience related to the functions of the position, or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority.Experience working with children in a classroom environment strongly preferred.Knowledge, skill and abilitiesField knowledge of flora and fauna required.
