Safety, quality, and production excellence drive everything we do.Position OverviewDCOMM is seeking an experienced Outside Plant (OSP) Splicer to support aerial and underground fiber and coax construction projects. This role is responsible for performing high-quality splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and plant activation while maintaining safety and production standards.The ideal candidate has strong field experience, understands OSP construction environments, and can work independently while supporting crews in fast-paced deployment projects.RequirementsKey ResponsibilitiesPerform fusion splicing of single-mode fiber in aerial and underground OSP environmentsPrep and splice fiber in closures, terminals, cabinets, and pedestalsRead and interpret fiber splice matrices, prints, and as-builtsPerform OTDR and power meter testing and document resultsTroubleshoot fiber issues and identify signal loss causesSplice and activate hardline coax systems (when applicable)Maintain splice trailers, equipment, and inventoryEnsure all work meets customer specifications and quality standardsFollow all DCOMM and OSHA safety requirementsCoordinate with linemen, construction crews, and market managersQualifications1+ years of OSP fiber splicing experience requiredExperience with fusion splicing equipment (Fujikura, Sumitomo, etc.)Ability to read and interpret fiber design maps and splice sheetsExperience performing OTDR testing and analyzing tracesValid driver’s licenseAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditionsAbility to travel within assigned regionsPreferred QualificationsExperience with coax splicing and activationExperience working in aerial construction environmentsExperience supporting new fiber builds and overlash projectsKnowledge of plant maintenance and troubleshootingWhat We OfferCompetitive pay based on experienceCompany vehicle (if applicable)Per diem for travel projectsGrowth opportunities within expanding marketsSafety-first cultureTo speak with one of our Recruiters, please apply online or call us at 877-809-8777.
