Heatset Department Manager

Job TitleHeatset Department ManagerPosition OverviewShaw Industries is hiring a Heatset Department Manager to lead the Heatset Department, managing the workforce and resources effectively while maintaining a safe and clean environment. The Department Manager focuses departmental efforts on safety, quality, cost, productivity/reliability, associate experience, customer service, and associate development and assists associates in achieving Departmental, Plant, and Company metrics.ResponsibilitiesProvide visible leadership in the department and facility.Participate as a Plant Safety Leadership team member to drive safety performance improvements in the department and facility.Control nonconforming products (raw and finished products) and ensure product and process control plans are in place to meet/exceed customer quality requirements.Provide direction for each supervisor, Process Engineer, and associate within the department and provide them with the training and proper tools to do their jobs.Review quality goals, performance, and objectives with Supervisors to support the department’s results; utilize the PX process to establish goals and develop team membersEffectively lead the Heatset Team to meet Heatset targets for volume, efficiency, waste, and total heatset costs.Address and resolve associate relations concerns in partnership with the supervisorDevelop and implement process specifications for all processes within the department.Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures for all jobs within the department.Assure products meet customer requirements and are processed and shipped according to the requirements.Required CompetenciesPlan and OrganizeInfluence OthersDrive ResultsFacilitate ChangeBuild Trusting RelationshipsRequirementsBA/BS degree (engineering, management, or similar fieldMinimum 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent Strong Knowledge of Microsoft and Google AppsAbility to organize, manage, and challenge a production team to exceed expectationsAbility to foster innovation, focus on customer needs, and demonstrate high integrity.Ability to establish, maintain, and drive positive associate relationsMust be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as requiredPreferredContinuous line manufacturing experience3-5 years of manufacturing leadership of groups of 10+ associates#ShawINDWork Shift8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AMShaw Industries is an equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
