Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking an Avionics Electrical Engineer to support the Axiom Space Commercial Space Station program in Houston, TX. The selected candidate for this position will play a key role in the development of hardware and firmware for commercial human spaceflight modules.
Key Duties :
Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for the Axiom Space Station.
Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation.
Perform integration and testing of electrical systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues.
Support design reviews of power and hardware systems as well as other spacecraft systems.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time.
Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
5 or more years of experience.
Experience designing, developing, testing, and verifying human spaceflight electrical systems and components.
Proficiency in using simulation tools to analyze circuit performance.
Understanding of PCB layout, manufacturing, EEE parts selection, and environmental qualifications.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related technical discipline.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education :
Experience with coding languages, specifically Python and MATLAB.
Knowledge of EMI/EMC design principles.
Experience with VHDL/FPGA Core Design.
Experience with analog, digital, or mixed signal multilayer PCB design.
Ability to interface with mechanical and thermal subsystems.
Experience with high-speed signals such as DDR, Ethernet, and USB.
10 or more years of related experience.
