This role is responsible for ensuring reliable, real-time data synchronization, high availability, and data consistency for mission-critical banking applications.Responsibilities:Replication Design & ImplementationDesign, install, configure, and maintain DB2 replication solutions across mainframe and distributed platformsBuild and manage source-to-target replication pipelinesConfigure replication components:Capture processesApply processesControl serversImplement:Unidirectional and bidirectional replication setupsReal-time and near-real-time data synchronization solutionsTroubleshooting & SupportTroubleshoot and resolve:Data inconsistenciesReplication failuresQueue backlogsNetwork interruptionsPerform root cause analysis and implement corrective actionsProvide L2/L3 support for production incidentsPerformance OptimizationTune replication processes to:Reduce latencyOptimize resource utilizationMinimize impact on source systemsOptimize:Data capture efficiencyApply performanceNetwork usageIntegration & Data ArchitectureSupport integration across:DB2 z/OS and DB2 LUW systemsDistributed databases, message queues, and ETL platformsWork Closely With:DBAsApplication teamsData engineering and BI teamsRequired Qualifications:Experience with:DB2 for z/OSZDIHMIPS reduction / optimization projectsUNIX system service including installing patch on UNIXUNIX scriptingRACFHands-on experience with replication technologies:IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR) / CDCQ Replication (preferred)Knowledge Of:Replication architecture and data flow designChange Data Capture (CDC) conceptsStrong Troubleshooting Skills In:Data consistency issuesPerformance and replication latencyExperience With:JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSFMainframe batch and online environmentsPreferred Experience:Familiarity with:MQ / messaging systemsETL and data warehousing platformsExperience With:Monitoring toolsAutomation (REXX, Python, scripting)Exposure To:Cloud or hybrid data architecturesExperience In:Large-scale data migration or modernization programsReal-time data streaming architectures
