Position Summary
iNRCORE Group currently has an opening for a Production Molding Operator at our Gowanda BTI location in Arcade, NY. This position is critical to the manufacturing of raw molded components used in electronic assemblies and reports directly to the Plant Manager.
The Production Molding Operator is responsible for operating compression and/or transfer molding equipment to manufacture intricate raw components for electronic products. This role involves compounding raw materials into chases, molding parts using heated presses, removing parts from chases, cleaning, and performing detailed inspections.
Details of the Role
The Production Molding Operator operates compression or transfer molding equipment in a production environment. The role involves manually compounding material into chases, loading and unloading chases into heated molding presses, and closely monitoring molding cycles.
This role does not involve injection molding. The work is primarily performed in a standing position in front of heated molding machines and requires sustained attention to detail, manual dexterity, and microscope use to inspect small, intricate parts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Measure, weigh, and compound raw molding materials into chases according to work instructions and specifications.
Operate molding machines to manufacture molded raw components for electronic products.
Compound raw molding materials into chases according to work instructions and specifications.
Load and unload chases into heated molding machines.
Monitor molding cycles, temperatures, pressures, and timing to ensure proper part formation.
Remove molded parts from chases after completion of molding cycles.
Clean molded parts to remove excess material, flash, or residue.
Inspect molded parts for defects, cracks, voids, or dimensional issues using microscopes and visual aids.
Identify and segregate nonconforming parts and report quality issues to supervision.
Accurately complete production documentation, travelers, and quality records.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all safety procedures related to heated equipment, tools, and materials.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifying Attributes and Skills
Strong attention to detail and quality awareness.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining consistency and accuracy.
Manual dexterity and ability to handle small, intricate parts.
Comfortable working in a standing position for extended periods.
Ability to safely work around heated molding equipment.
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed work instructions.
Willingness to use microscopes and magnification equipment for inspection.
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Manufacturing or production experience preferred; molding or electronics manufacturing experience is a plus.
Experience operating molding equipment or working with heated machinery preferred but not required (training provided).
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for the majority of the work shift.
Frequent use of hands for fine motor tasks and manipulation of small parts.
Ability to lift and move up to 15 pounds.
Ability to work in front of heated molding machines.
Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and ability to work using microscopes or magnification tools.
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment with heated molding equipment.
Exposure to warm temperatures, mechanical equipment, and molding materials.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
