Air Import Specialist

Job SummaryJAS is an international supply-chain services and solutions company. The Air Import Specialist is responsible for managing air import shipments and ensuring high-quality service that meets or exceeds customer expectations.Essential FunctionsTrack arrivals of cargo via web for JAS origin and warehouses.Receive customer-service transmissions and forward them to warehouses at least 8 hours before flight arrival.Report missing documents or packages to customer service, origin, and customer.Forward customer-service transmissions to generate the operation.Generate notice of arrival of cargo to the warehouse/fiscal warehouse and send dispatch.Generate invoice for freight and handling of the operation as soon as cargo arrives.Coordinate sending of documents to customers by courier.Issue insurance according to customer-service instruction.Comply with customs transmissions at the times regulated by customs.Notify client of the arrival of their cargo immediately.Daily track all pending flights, reporting delays or other issues.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNoneQualificationsMinimum 3 years' experience in air imports or combination of education and expertise required.Excellent organizational skills.Excellent written and verbal skills.Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.Knowledge of U.S. customs laws, practices and procedures.Able to perform the essential duties of this position without posing a "direct threat" to health or safety.Able to interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED required.Minimum 3 years of experience in air imports or combination of education and expertise required.Cargowise (C1) experience preferred.Experience and knowledge regarding import entry procedures, compliance, rules and regulations preferred.OGA experience preferred.Environment100% performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment under normal office conditions.Physical RequirementsEmployees are required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk and hear; frequently stop, kneel, crouch, lift weight or exert force up to a maximum of 25pounds. Base compensation is the first tier of the compensation with additional rewards based on skill, experience and other criteria.
