CDL Truck Driver - Construction SiteThe Class A CDL Driver will primarily be responsible for safely transporting construction materials and equipment to the job site location. This position is also responsible for performing daily vehicle inspections, assisting with loading and unloading, maintaining and performing basic maintenance on the vehicle.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES:Drive commercial vehicles to transport tools, supplies, and other materials from designated laydown area to the jobsiteLoad, secure, and unload tools, materials, supplies, and heavy equipmentOperate forklifts, manlifts, boom trucks, etc. for the purposes of loading and unloading trucksWear personal protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility clothing, gloves, and steel toed boots at all timesConduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, log defects, and perform basic truck/equipment upkeep.Maintain records of maintenance and repair activitiesInteract professionally with customers and other employees at various locationsAssist on construction site as needed and requested by the Project SuperintendentAssist with building and grounds maintenance as requestedAdhere strictly to all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulationsOperate vehicle in a safe manner; obeying all federal, state, and local traffic laws and posted speed limits at all timesSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSMust possess a valid and current Class A Commercial Driver's License with a minimum of 3 years' experienceClean Driving Record and insurabilityHigh school diploma or GED requiredAbility to pass a D.O.T. physical examinationKNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:Energetic, self-starter and willing to learnAbility to operate forklifts, skid steers, aerial lifts etc.Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform physical workAbility to complete paper and digital forms and reportsMust be able to effectively read and interpret informationAbility to work successfully as a team and independently with moderate supervisionPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds for long periods of timeCoordinate eye-hand movements with control and precisionUse hands and fingers fully; reach for, manipulate, and feel objects; stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawlClimb and maintain body balance on ladders and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction)Stoop, lay, bend or squat for long periods of timePass DOT medical examWORKING CONDITIONS:* May be exposed to fumes, dust or other airborne particles, and loud noises on a heavy industrial construction site* May be exposed to extreme outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidityOTHER:* Travel may be required.
