The hourly range for this position is $59,092.80 to $62,587.36 and is commensurate with experience.The Clinical Setting Addictions Counselor provides individual counseling, group facilitation, intake and assessment of clients in the addiction's treatment program.This position is located at Leland Place, which provides support for individuals looking to build independence and maintain sobriety. Leland Place is located on 45th Street in NE Washington, DC (across from the Benning Road metro on the blue line).Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm & 11:00 am - 7:00 pm (one evening shift per week)QualificationsRequired: Master's degree in social work or counseling; or Certified Addictions Counselor DC License; 1-2 yrs experience providing addiction treatment or mental health services; experience providing services to homeless populationRequired License/Certification: Certified Addictions Counselor I or II or LGSW or LICSW or LPC from the District of Columbia Department of Health, CPR/First AidExpected Contributions/Addiction Treatment Services:Conduct initial individual assessmentsAssess clients for financial eligibility including Medicaid and APRA; make referrals for enrollment when neededDevelop treatment plans and update them as neededProvide outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment services to clientsDevelop and facilitate addictions groupsProvide individual addictions counseling to clients in different phases of treatmentAssess client readiness for the current level of care and transfer to residential treatmentConduct case management for clients in collaboration with staff and programsComplete discharge planning and make referrals to alternative programs as neededWrite client progress notes and maintain documentation in required electronic health record systemsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Facilitation skillsTeam orientatedKnowledge of mental health and substance abuse issues including co-occurring diagnoses in a residential settingAbility to use creativity, strengths-based approach, and evidence-based practices with clientFlexibility with the ability to multi-task despite competing prioritiesExperience with DataWits, ECW strongly preferredProficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and OutlookReports to: Program Manager - Single SitePosition Designation: This position is designated as Safety Sensitive.
