Playwright Automation Test Engineer📍 Location: Whippany, NJ🏢 Work Model: Hybrid – Minimum 2 days/week onsite in Whippany, NJ (No Exceptions)💼 Experience: 8+ years🧪 Employment Type: ContractAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Playwright Automation Test Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in test automation, UI/API testing, and automation framework development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, Selenium, API automation, and CI/CD integration.Experience with Agentic GenAI / Claude through a Proof of Concept (PoC) or implementation is a strong plus.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and execute automated UI and API test scripts using Playwright.Design and enhance scalable, reusable automation frameworks.Develop automated tests using TypeScript or JavaScript.Perform UI, REST/JSON API, and backend validation testing.Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and Git.Perform cross-browser testing across Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit.Collaborate with developers and QA teams to analyze PRDs, identify gaps, and improve test coverage.Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and document defects in Jira.Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous quality improvement.Required Skills8+ years of QA/Test Automation experienceStrong hands-on experience with PlaywrightProficiency in TypeScript or JavaScriptStrong experience with SeleniumExperience with UI and API automationStrong REST/JSON API testing and backend validation experienceExperience building or enhancing automation frameworksCI/CD experience with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and GitCross-browser testing experience with Chromium, Firefox, and WebKitExperience with DockerKnowledge of cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce LabsExperience with Cucumber/BDDStrong experience working in Agile/Scrum environmentsExperience with defect tracking tools such as Jira⭐ Nice to HaveAgentic GenAI / Generative AI experienceHands-on experience with ClaudeExperience developing or implementing GenAI PoCsExperience applying AI/LLMs to software testing or test automation⚠️ Important Location RequirementCandidates must be able to work onsite in the Whippany, NJ office at least 2 days per week.
