MUSIC TEAM MEMBER Hillside Fellowship Part-Time | Hourly | Non- Exempt Reports To: Creative Arts Team Lead Schedule: Primarily weekends (Saturday and Sunday services), with rehearsals, occasional special services, or ministry events as needed Hours: Part-Time, approximately 10 hours per week depending on rehearsal, service schedule, and special events Benefits: This position is not eligible for employee benefits, as outlined in the Hillside Fellowship Personnel Handbook ROLE SUMMARY Hillside Fellowship believes that Jesus Changes Everything! Our mission is that we exist to worship God, by proclaiming Jesus, making disciples, rooted in the Word of God, empowered by the Spirit of God. Discipleship is a byproduct, as we know and make much of Jesus. Working closely with the Creative Arts Team Lead and Music Coordinator, the Music Team Member helps lead the congregation in worship during weekend services and special gatherings. Through musical preparation, collaboration, and spiritual attentiveness, this role supports the overall direction and flow of each service. By serving with excellence, humility, and reliability, the Music Team Member helps create an environment where the church can respond to God together through song. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Worship Leadership + Service Participation Lead effectively from your instrument or vocal position during weekend services, supporting the overall flow and direction of the service Support the vision and direction of the Creative Arts Team Lead in all worship environments Participate in special services and ministry events as requested (e.g., Christmas Eve, Easter, Night of Worship) Preparation + Musical Excellence Maintain strong familiarity with the church's song catalog and musical style Arrive musically prepared for all rehearsals and services Demonstrate proficiency in your musical craft (instrument or vocal) Team Participation + Collaboration Attend and actively engage in scheduled rehearsals, contributing to a focused, collaborative, and encouraging team environment Demonstrate a teachable spirit and ability to work under musical direction Communicate clearly regarding scheduling, availability, and preparation Reliability + Professional Conduct Demonstrate reliability through punctuality, preparation, and consistency Interact respectfully and professionally with staff and volunteers Fulfill all responsibilities with a spirit of humility, flexibility, and teamwork Additional Responsibilities This role may include additional responsibilities as needed to support weekend services, special events, and the overall ministry of Hillside Fellowship QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Faith + Character Demonstrates a maturing relationship with Jesus Christ and embodies the culture and values of Hillside Fellowship (Galatians 5:22-23) Must be a member of Hillside Fellowship or willing to pursue membership within six months of hire Education + Experience Minimum of five years of experience serving on a church music team or similar environment Demonstrates strong proficiency in their musical craft (instrument or vocal) Must possess the personal equipment necessary to practice off-site and perform responsibilities during services and events Skills & Competencies Demonstrates a teachable spirit and ability to work collaboratively under musical direction Strong communication and reliability in scheduling preparation Ability to contribute to a healthy, unified, and encouraging team environment Ability to pass a background check is required
