Job SummaryThe Junior Control Systems Technician supports the installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and modification of industrial control systems in manufacturing facilities. This is a hands-on industrial field position with significant exposure to control system installation, UL508A panel fabrication, industrial commissioning, and control system engineering development.This role is designed for individuals seeking long-term growth into Control Systems Specialist, Controls Engineering, and Project Engineering positions. Candidates will work directly alongside experienced engineers and field personnel in demanding industrial environments and will be expected to develop technical and professional capabilities rapidly.Work will be performed in industrial facilities, fabrication environments, construction sites, and company offices. This is not a remote position.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with installation, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial control systems.Support field wiring verification, I/O checkout, system validation, and startup activities.Assemble and modify electrical control panels in compliance with UL508A standards.Assist with PLC and HMI configuration and modification activities.Support troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation, motor control, VFD, mechanical, and software-related issues.Generate and maintain I/O lists and project documentation.Assist with development and revision of electrical drawings and control system documentation.Support panel fabrication activities as required.Work safely in operating industrial facilities, construction environments, and food manufacturing plants.Travel extensively to customer facilities for installation, startup, commissioning, and service assignments.Work Environment and Travel RequirementsApproximately 50% field installation and startup work.Approximately 25% panel fabrication and shop activities.Approximately 25% office-based engineering and technical development.Extensive domestic and international travel required.Work may include extended startup assignments, overtime, weekend work, and irregular schedules.Work is performed in industrial manufacturing facilities and construction environments. Sometimes night-shift hours are required.Food plant safety and sanitation requirements frequently apply.PPE is required in many work environments.Position requires climbing ladders, moving around industrial equipment, and maintaining physical agility in active industrial facilities.Required QualificationsProficiency with basic electrical and mechanical hand tools.Basic understanding of electrical systems and industrial controls.Ability to learn to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.Familiarity with industrial instrumentation and motor control systems.Valid passport required prior to and within 30 days of employment due to international travel requirements.Ability to pass background checks and drug screening requirements.Ability to enter customer industrial facilities.Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with company and customer safety requirements.Preferred QualificationsTechnical school or associate degree in electrical technology, industrial systems, automation, or related field preferred.Equivalent hands-on industrial experience will also be considered.Military electronics or electrical experience is highly preferred.Former industrial maintenance technicians and experienced field technicians strongly encouraged to apply.Bilingual English/Spanish candidates preferred.Experience with PLC and HMI systems.Experience with motor controls and VFD systems.Familiarity with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms preferred.Familiarity with UL508A control panel standards preferred.Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or industrial electrical drafting software is a plus.Safety ExpectationsSafety is a core company value and a condition of employment.
