Envisioned and designed by Forged In Fire Champion, Josh A. Weston, Black Flag Forge is the newest experience at Broadway at the Beach. Black Flag Forge invites customers to forge with you, the blacksmith, to forge out their very own keepsake - from "Pieces of 8" to axes and cutlasses. Black Flag Forge is seeking a charismatic craftsman with former experience working as metal professional in any capacity. Experience in blacksmithing or moving metal to shape is preferred. We are seeking a candidate who is comfortable working with large groups of people and teaching all ages and skill levels. Our Smiths work with groups of around 4 during experience driven sessions where the guests take on the role of an apprentice (or occasionally a power hammer) while the Smith steps into the role of the seasoned master. Smiths must also become proficient grinders, comfortable with utilizing machinery including induction forges; 2 by 72 grinders; and 25 ton presses. Our patrons expect a good show so the ideal Smith will need to have a big personality and a big passion for metal. On the job training provided and ongoing.
