The Staff Accountant will perform accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and other accounting functions. Primary Functions: Track fixed assets and maintain supporting schedules. Prepare, review, and analyze department budgets and selected general ledger accounts. Complete data entry for all Ace Sanitary accounts payable and accounts receivable. Analyze balance sheet accounts and income statements. Perform variance analysis on any costs that seem contrary to prior experience. Prepare cost accounting records related to purchasing. Assist in monthly closing, year-end close and year-end audit processes. Compute project costs, compare actual costs to estimates and analyze variances. Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Codes invoices and makes entries in the enterprise resource planning system (ERP). Manage credit holds and interact with other departments to ensure accurate and timely release of orders. Complete monthly journal entries, weekly check runs, and expense reimbursements. Other duties as assigned. Primary Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, accounting and ERP software. Experience in manufacturing preferred. Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job such as: Safely navigating a manufacturing environment Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs Extended periods of sitting; occasional standing and walking Using computer, phone and office equipment
