Announcement Date: January 14, 2026 Internal/ExternalClosing Date: Until FilledJob Classification: CertifiedJob Title: School NurseTerms of Employment: Part Time 6 hrs a dayLocation: Globe Unified School DistrictReports to: PrincipalPrimary Function:To support student learning and achievement by promoting and maintaining the health, well being, and safety of students and staff; Facilitates positive student responses to normal growth and development; Provides nursing care for students; Provides case management services; Actively collaborates with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self advocacy and learningQualifications:Associate's Degree in Nursing (Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is preferred)Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) LicenseArizona School Nurse CertificationTwo (2) years of clinical experienceValid Arizona driver's license in order to transport students on occasionRegistered as a Medicaid providerMaintain valid CPR and First Aid Training Assigned Responsibilities:Coordinate Health Services program and provide nursing care; Illness and injury assessments, interventions and referrals as neededFollow state law, health department and school district policies and procedures for communicable diseases, immunizations and child abuseIdentify assess, plan interventions, evaluate and document student health concernsScreen for health factors that impact student education/achievement such as vision, hearing, dental, growth and developmentManage chronic diseases and provide relevant education through various avenues of communicationsAdminister student medications as prescribed by Arizona lawProvide pediatric nursing procedures such as: catheterization, tracheostomy care, suctioning, gastrostomy feedings, chest percussion and ventilatorsDevelop individualized nursing care plans and services for students with disabilities and/or health conditions that interfere with learning and school parametersProvide assessments and interventions for students with mental health needsParticipate in and attend Child Study Team meetings as well as Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) meetingsAttend meetings such as staff meetings, health service meetings, staff development classes, relevant trainings, and/or field related in-servicesDevelop individualized education plans for health services for special needs childrenEstablish and maintain communication with parents/guardiansWork collaboratively with school and district staffProvide first aid and health counseling for staffAct as a health curriculum resource for promotion, prevention activities, education and counseling for students, staff, and parents/guardiansIdentify health and safety concerns in the school environment; promote a nurturing school environmentParticipate on the Crisis Team (As prescribed by the district)Acts as health care provider liaison between school and communityMaintain confidential student health information and recordsSubmit appropriate reports such as: Arizona School Health Annual Report, Vision Report, Immunization Report, etc.Maintain health office supplies and equipmentMaintain Medicaid logs and relevant time studiesAct and serve as an on-going medical resource, providing training, updates, in-services, and related input to teachers and staffProvide other related tasks assigned by building level and/or district level administration
