CMM Programmer/Operator (OH - Experienced)

*Overview * The CMM Programmer/Operator is responsible for identifying and training CMM Inspectors engaged in interpreting technical engineering data and converting it into CMM inspection techniques and code. * Creates and implements a technical system in the CMM inspection area and other areas within the company as required. *Organizational Relationship * The CMM Programmer/Operator is part of the Quality department and reports directly to the Quality Manager receiving advice, counsel, and direction relative to the inspection function. This position works closely with other members of the organization to meet the operational needs of the business. *Responsibilities * * Ensures the safe/accurate verification of quality products manufactured to customer specifications. * Ensures the development of technical competence in CMM programming and operation in effort to maximize machine productivity. * Ensures economic optimization of production equipment by providing accurate and timely CMM verification results to the shop floor, through the use and scheduling of CMM facilities, equipment and manpower. * Ensures employee involvement/commitment to meeting department and organizational goals/objectives. * Coordinates technical training of CMM Inspectors by providing operation instruction on quality control safety/adherence to process control procedures. * Responsible for overall condition, maintenance and calibration of the CMM machinery/equipment used to support these functions. * Responsible for the validation and maintenance of computer files, programs and record used to operate the CMM machinery. * Responsible for converting production methods and procedures designed for machining products to CMM computer language. * Works closely with engineering, production and manufacturing personnel in resolving engineering and technical problems, adversely impacting machine productivity throughout the plant. * Maintains a professional and personable relationship with employees, customers and vendors being responsive to their needs, as well as needs of the company. * Performs other duties as directed by the Quality Manager. *Skills* * CAD/Solid Works experience is a plus. * CAT100PS – MCOSMOS modeling software experience is a plus.
