POSITION: Conflicts Attorney LOCATION: Chicago, ILCOMPENSATION: $140,000 to $185,000 Conflicts Attorney | Global Law Firm | Chicago, IL Our prestigious and globally recognized AM LAW 200 law firm client is hiring an experienced Conflicts Attorney for their Chicago office. Conflicts Attorney is a member of the Conflicts & Business Intake Department. This role includes the identification, analysis, and resolution of potential ethical and business conflicts of interest. In doing so, this role ensures the firm maintains ethical standards in accordance with professional responsibility rules and firm policies. This position works closely with Conflicts Counsel and Director of Conflicts Services and Business Intake.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Review conflicts reports and further summarize issues that require further actions.Analyze and resolve conflicts of interest issues under applicable professional responsibility rules and firm policiesDetail the actions required for requesting and affected partners, occasionally escalating to firm counselDraft and edit waiver language in coordination with attorneys and firm counselOversee the conflicts clearance for lateral partner and associate hires. REQUIREMENTS:Law degree from an accredited law school and an active Illinois bar license required2+ years of conflicts, risk, or compliance experience in a mid-large law firmWorking knowledge of professional responsibility rules (e.g. ABA Model Rules, applicable U.S. State and Federal, and international bar ethics)Experience reviewing conflicts reports involving corporate structures, related entities, and prior representationsExperience using conflicts software (Intapp), research tools (D&B, CapIQ), etc.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:The following will also be required of the successful candidate:Strong organizational and prioritization skillsStrong attention to detailGood judgmentStrong interpersonal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAble to work harmoniously and effectively with othersAble to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretionAble to work under pressureAble to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities
