The SHS Pharmacy operates within the Student Wellness Center and serves as a critical component of the campus healthcare ecosystem. This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProcess and dispense prescriptions under pharmacist supervision in compliance with Montana Board of Pharmacy regulationsStrictly maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all timesDeliver courteous, professional service to MSU studentsManage medication inventory including controlled substancesProcess insurance claims and billingOver-the-counter and retail sale managementMaintain required records and support pharmacy administrative functionsRequired Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalentMust be at least 18 years of age (Montana Board of Pharmacy requirement)Active Montana Certified Pharmacy Technician license (CPhT via PTCB or ExCPT/NHA), or eligibility for a provisional license; active licensure required prior to start date (ARM 24.174.701)Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & SkillsCPhT credential (PTCB preferred)Previous experience in a retail, clinic, or hospital pharmacy settingExperience with pharmacy management softwareFamiliarity with third-party insurance billing and claims processingExperience working in a college health, public health, or student-facing service environmentThe Successful Candidate WillMonday–Friday availability during SHS Pharmacy operating hoursStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in a high-stakes clinical environmentDemonstrated understanding of and commitment to patient privacy and HIPAA complianceEffective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact respectfully with a diverse student populationAbility to manage competing priorities and maintain workflow in a busy pharmacy settingProfessional, ethical conduct and reliabilityPosition Special Requirements/Additional InformationMontana Board of Pharmacy Compliance: This position is subject to all applicable provisions of Montana Administrative Rules Chapter 24.174.
