Event Manager (Alameda)

The Events Manager is responsible for driving, coordinating, and executing beverage service and hospitality events across the San Francisco Design Center campus. This role is focused on operational excellence, premium guest experience, and leadership execution. This is not a sales or commission-based role. Business is primarily contract-driven, and success is measured by operational performance, financial control, and service quality. The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates strong service leadership, and maintains exceptional standards of professionalism and execution.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning & Client ExperienceServe as primary client contact from inquiry through post-event follow-upConduct site tours, tastings, and client planning meetingsDevelop event proposals, pricing, and event ordersCoordinate event details including menus, timelines, staffing, and layoutsMaintain accurate event records in event management systems (Tripleseat experience preferred)Event Operations & ExecutionOversee on-site event setup, service execution, and breakdownLead pre-shift briefings covering timelines, VIP guests, and service expectationsResolve operational challenges in real time with professionalism and composureMaintain brand presentation, service quality, and guest experience standardsTeam LeadershipSupervise bartenders, servers, captains, and support staff during eventsProvide clear direction on service flow and assignmentsLead by example through hands-on service support during high-volume eventsSupport training and development of event staffFinancial & Business ManagementPrepare event estimates, invoices, and billing documentationMonitor revenue, labor costs, and cost of goodsSupport forecasting and budget trackingEnsure timely deposit and payment processingCompliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with alcohol service regulations and safety standardsMaintain sanitation and food safety complianceCommunicate emergency and safety procedures to staffReport incidents or safety concerns immediatelyVendor & Partner CoordinationManage vendor logistics including rentals, florals, audiovisual, and staffing partnersConfirm vendor compliance documentation and insurance requirementsSupport load-in and load-out coordinationPost-Event ResponsibilitiesConduct post-event walkthroughs to restore spacesSend client follow-up communications within 24 hoursCollect feedback and document operational improvementsLeadership & Culture ExpectationsThis role requires strong hospitality leadership presence and professional conduct.Successful candidates will demonstrate:Ownership mentality and accountabilitySolution-oriented thinkingStrong communication and emotional composure under pressureHands-on leadership during high-volume service periodsTeam respect is earned through operational credibility and work ethic.
