Summary of PositionA bartender must be friendly, outgoing, and possess strong communication skills, playing a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience. Consistency is essential to maintaining a positive atmosphere. The bartender should follow recipes accurately, stay organized, and think quickly while remaining composed under pressure. Being attentive to guests, demonstrating a strong sense of timing, and maintaining a professional appearance are essential qualities. Dedication, integrity, and honesty should be displayed in all aspects of the role.Key Performance Areas (KPAs) Guest Service & Interaction Drink Preparation & Service Bar Operations & Maintenance Order Processing & Cash Handling Stock & Inventory ManagementDuties & ResponsibilitiesGuest Service & Interaction Welcome each guest personally within 30 seconds of arrival. Communicate with guests using clear, enthusiastic words, tone, and body language. Answer questions about food, beverages, and other restaurant services.Drink Preparation & Service Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes. Learn and remember guests’ names, occupations, and favorite drinks to personalize their experience. Keep current bar tabs in front of guests at all times for transparency.Bar Operations & Maintenance Work with team members to keep all areas clean, organized, and stocked to standard. Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive and organized display. Wash and sterilize stemware to ensure cleanliness and quality service.Order Processing & Cash Handling Punch drink orders into the system immediately for accurate tracking. Collect payments from guests for drinks served at the bar and provide change as needed.Stock & Inventory Management Perform periodic stock counts to ensure sufficient supply levels. Replenish bar stock and ensure all ingredients and supplies are readily available.Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned to support seamless bar operations.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Guest complaints are promptly addressed and reduced over time.
