CAD Intern

Brief DescriptionUtilizes 3D CAD software to layout and design simple projects as assigned by the Engineering manager and/or the Design Engineer. Assigned tasks may include creating layouts & 3D models, creating 2D detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, etc.Drawings are to include all views and dimensions necessary to manufacture the part. Understanding drafting principles, a familiarity of engineering terminology, and possesses mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.Essential FunctionsUses Solidworks (CAD) to develop 3D designs from sketches and prototypes.Creates and revises 2D production drawings (detail and assembly drawings)Utilizes knowledge of various woodworking tools, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings.Other Responsibilities As RequestedMaintains electronic files stored on engineering vault & DMSConvert 3D models to STEP file format as neededRequirementsQualifications:3D Modeling experienceProficient with Microsoft Office Suite Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Preferred Skills, Competencies, And ExperienceEnjoys working in a team environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAble to identify, analyze, and solve problemsEducations RequirementsHigh School diploma or GED
