Job Description:Job DescriptionCertified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Experienced surgical technologists looking for a dynamic contract opportunity will find this position especially rewarding. This role requires extensive knowledge in the operating room, particularly in orthopedics and using the Da Vinci robotic system. You'll work closely with nurses and surgeons to ensure seamless and safe surgical procedures, while supporting new staff as needed. Schedule/Hours:8-hour evening shifts: 11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.Weekend, call, and holiday coverage requiredMust be able to arrive within 30 minutes when on call Qualifications & Experience:Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (required)Previous travel experience (required)Strong background in orthopedics and scrubbing (required)Demonstrated experience with Da Vinci surgical equipment (required)Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech program, or eligibility for a current New York State LPN license preferredApproved pharmacology course or equivalent medication experience, with successful completion of a medications examKnowledgeable in sterilization, disinfection, and proper cleaning of surgical equipment and instrumentsCurrent BLS certificationOngoing continuing education—15 CEUs per year Key Responsibilities:Function under direct RN supervision, assisting with nursing care and preparation of surgical patientsPerform routine and delegated duties according to department and hospital standardsAct in the scrub role: preparing, selecting, and managing surgical instruments with precision and efficiencyMaintain strict sterile technique and ensure all equipment is safe, functional, and availableSupport orientation and training of new staff when necessaryAssist with a range of departmental tasks as assigned If you're a certified surgical tech with travel, orthopedics, and Da Vinci experience, and you thrive in a fast-paced operating room environment, this is an ideal assignment.
