PCBA Test Engineer
Overview
In this onsite role in Maynard, you will lead the end-to-end development and deployment of test solutions for PCBA subassemblies, collaborating with hardware and mechanical engineering to resolve design issues. You’ll build automated test scripts in LabVIEW and Python and support firmware and host software validation. You’ll troubleshoot assemblies and fixtures, create test instructions, and train contract manufacturers to ensure scalable deployment. This role sits at the crossroads of engineering, program management, and contract manufacturing, offering high visibility and meaningful impact in optical transceiver testing.

ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end development and deployment of test solutions for PCBA subassembly hardware from initial fixturing to handoff to sustaining team and contract manufacturerCollaborate with Hardware and Mechanical Engineering teams to resolve design issues related to product and evaluation hardwareUse LabVIEW and Python to create and optimize automated test scripts for test automationParticipate in regression testing of product firmware and evaluation host software validationTroubleshoot product sub-assemblies, evaluation boards, thermal fixtures, and process fixtures to ensure readiness for new product platformsGenerate test instructions and fixturing concepts; train contract manufacturing team during product deployment and debug
Key requirements2 or 4-year technology degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related focus areaAt least two years of relevant manufacturing industry experienceExperience in troubleshooting PCBA assemblies and thermal/mechanical fixturingFamiliarity with rack-mounted test equipment and automated control protocols such as I2C and SPIExperience with debugging equipment such as DVMs and Oscilloscopescollaborativeproblem-solvingability to train and transfer knowledge to contract manufacturersLabVIEWPythonPCBA troubleshooting
