After opening its doors in its inaugural year with Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade, El Camino is now expanding to include 2nd grade and adding one additional teaching position at each existing grade level. The campus is defined by a collective commitment to excellence, where educators take shared responsibility for student outcomes, use data to drive decisions, and continuously refine practice in service of student learning.Summary of the Instructional Coach PositionThe Early Childhood Instructional Coach is a specialized instructional leadership role focused exclusively on academic achievement in early childhood education (Pre-K through 2nd grade) and coaching early childhood teachers. This position contributes to improved student achievement by building teacher capacity through deep content knowledge, data-driven instructional decision-making, and research-based instructional practice.Unlike traditional coaching models that focus primarily on instructional strategies, Santa Fe South instructional coaches are content specialists. The Early Childhood Instructional Coach is expected to bring strong, practical experience teaching early childhood education, with particular expertise in foundational literacy and the science of reading (e.g., LETRS, 95% Group, or similar evidence-based training), and to support teachers in driving students toward mastery by anticipating misconceptions, analyzing student work and assessment data, and refining instruction accordingly. This role requires an uncompromising belief that all students can achieve at high levels and that all teachers- regardless of experience- can and should continue growing their craft.As part of this work, the instructional coach partners closely with teachers to analyze data-based student needs and current teacher practice to set performance and development goals. Common coaching activities include modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, observation and feedback, and individual conferencing. The instructional coach may facilitate content teams and assist the site leader in providing professional development. In addition, the instructional coach collaborates with the district Academic Team to develop curriculum and common assessments.Major Responsibilities and DutiesDevelop relationships with and coach teachersObserve teachers and provide feedback (at least 1x per week)Feedback given in person and logged in district platformProvide weekly lesson plan feedback aligned to district expectations for planningMeet with content teams at least 2 times per weekMaintain weekly content team agendasFacilitate district protocols during content team meetingsCommunicate action steps with site leader and members of Academic TeamSet and monitor progress toward development and performance goalsProvide coaching in the form of modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, observing, and conferencing to support individual teachersEstablish coaching plans for each teacher with teacher and coach actionsAnalyze student data to inform next steps and drive student resultsHold teacher planning meetings with teachers three times per year to review development and performance goals to align them with site/district goalsImplement district curriculum and instructional methodsMonitor roll out of district curriculum (pacing and assessments)Support district's Academic Team in continued development of district curriculum as assignedWork alongside members of the district's Academic Team to develop content knowledge (including pedagogy, content, and methodology) in self and teachersSupport teachers with planning/pacing of lessons, differentiation, and selection of best practices to meet the needs of their students.Work with teachers to provide quality test environment for common formative assessments and other district assessmentsMonitor effectiveness of personalized learning platform and interventionAssist the site leader in executing the district's strategic planSupport site leader in developing and executing 90 Day Plan for each semester aligned to district's strategic planWork with site leader to design and deliver professional development aligned to district and site goals when applicableSupport the site leader in using data to drive student achievement resultsConduct performance reviews with teachers to monitor progress toward district goals at the beginning, middle, and end of the school yearAnalyze assessment data after district and common assessmentsReview the dataIdentify action steps for teachers and studentsAssist content team in creating and delivering action planDevelop interventions to support Tier 1 instruction and tiered growth goals as neededEngage fully as an instructional leader in the districtFollow weekly work schedule that aligns with district expectationsActively participate in district instructional leader trainingsHold the line on site and district goalsSupport school and district cultureQualificationsBachelor's degree requiredMaster's degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Education Administration, Early Childhood Education, or another relevant field strongly preferredDemonstrated success as an early childhood teacher (Pre-K through 2nd grade)Deep content knowledge across early childhood subjects, with extensive classroom experience highly valued; particular expertise in foundational literacy and mathematicsExperience and training in the science of reading (e.g., LETRS, 95% Group, or similar evidence-based programs)Strong understanding of early childhood development, learning theory, current educational trends, play-based and structured learning practices, instructional methods, research, and program implementationFamiliarity with NWEA MAP, OSTP, and Oklahoma Academic Standards for early gradesAn uncompromising belief that all students can and will learn at high levelsA growth-oriented mindset that values continuous improvement for both students and educatorsRelentless work ethic and high degree of patience in navigating complex instructional challengesAbility to view setbacks as opportunities for learning and refinementDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and drive student outcomes through teams of teachersStrong relationship-building skills with teachers, leaders, students, and district staffTechnological proficiency and adaptabilityExcellent organizational skillsCompensation & BenefitsSalary is competitive and commensurate with experience.Comprehensive benefits program including the option for 100% paid health insurance for the employee.401K program with district contribution.Approximate Dedication of Time75-80% of time spent on instruction*10-15% of time spent planning0-15% of time spent in site meetings and professional development*Instructional coaches should spend 80-90% of their time on instruction.
