This role safely and efficiently performs and assists in the maintenance and repair of all systems and structures as directed, while contributing efforts to ensure the proper operation, performance, and reliability of the tasks specifically assigned. The BMT III is the sole owner of all Locksmith job duties and will be responsible for all door and lock preventative maintenance.Responsibilities:Work in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager to help plan and implement an effective preventative maintenance programConducts safety audits to identify deficiencies and unsafe practices that need immediate correction, ensuring a safe working environmentFollows work priorities according to the status of the components, systems, structures, and actual work order requestsMaintains records, schedules, charts, etc., as required to ensure proper and timely preventative maintenance or repair of components, systems, and structuresEnsures that equipment is properly tagged and secured before maintenance or repair work is performedMonitors O&M work to ensure correct procedures are being followed and provides assistance when necessaryCreate work orders using a 24/7 platform to accurately track Preventive maintenance, work being completed, purchase orders, and incidents that occur during eventsRegularly inspects and maintains assigned equipment to ensure proper operationAs directed by the General Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Manager, seeks and exchanges information regarding the operation, maintenance, and repair of existing or new components, systems, and structures with manufacturer representativesMust purchase materials needed to perform job dutiesWork at heights up to 125 feetMetal stud framingWelding Knowledge, GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, Plasma cutting, acetylene torch cuttingInstalling ceiling grids/ceiling tilesHave basic computer skills and be able to navigate Microsoft OfficeHave superior knowledge of hand tools and power toolsMaintain and repair all locking systems, exit devices, door closures, cut keys of all standards and specialty type blanksRead and interpret architectural blueprints, also key and pin cylinder locks, and assemble and repair all types of mortise locksRepair all types of locks and handles on furniture, such as file cabinets and desksProfessionally perform all specific responsibilities according to the highest standards of the locksmith professionMaintain records, door schedules, charts, as required to ensure proper and timely preventative maintenance or repair of components, locking systems, and structuresKeep an adequate inventory of all locksmith-related materials and suppliesConduct safety audits to identify safety improvements and unsafe practices that require immediate correction, ensuring a safe working environment for employees and guestsBe able to prioritize work assignments and complete projects on time or as scheduledPerform all specific responsibilities in a professional manner according to the highest standards of the BMT III positionQualifications:Must have a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of trade school, or an apprenticeship programMust demonstrate a detailed working knowledge of systems and structures, tools, testing instruments, and proper procedures related to the maintenance and repair of commercial building equipment and systemsMust be a self-starter and motivatedMust have excellent communication and expression skillsMust be able to accurately and neatly complete all necessary forms and paperwork, i.e., work ordersMust be an effective team playerMust be able to travel to various locations throughout the facility and groundsMust be able to be on call at times when not scheduled to be at the facilityMust be able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidaysMust possess working knowledge of safety equipment, systems, and OSHA guidelines to provide a safe workplace for employees and a safe environment for the publicMust be able to lift 50 lbsMust be comfortable working at elevated heightsWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
