This person will have responsibility for the initial planning of a project including scheduling of time, creating material stock listing, analyzing changes, and solving problems. He or she should be able to design and create the finished representation for the alarm systems using drawing and drafting skills and tools when needed. The drawings produced will be used as a guide by every other link in the chain of construction, both on-site and in the office.Job ResponsibilitiesReview construction contract documents and coordinate with sub-contractors and General Contractor/owner to gather the required information to design the project’s sprinkler systemThrough use of analytical thinking and problem solving, determine construction feasibility and systems possibilitiesCreate detailed drawings through extensive use of AutoCAD and AlarmCADCreate stock list for all material required throughout the projectPerform battery load calculationsDevelop initial schedules for preliminary project workMaintain design historical records and historical records for all functions for future useDevelop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure company is meeting customers’ expectationsCoordinate with other departments within office to ensure proper handover of job informationConduct long range project planning and schedulingMonitor and manage projects to comply with safety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirementsDirectly manage field labor force of assigned project to assure maximum productivityTrack employee hours and crew mix rates for each projectEnsure proper staffing is in place on each projectIdentify changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirementsMake sure change orders/change estimates are completed in timely mannerMonitor project billings for accuracy and maintenance of a positive cash flowContinually monitor progress of projects; review reports to ensure compliance with schedule and budgetary guidelinesAssist/lead during field check stage of the projectForecast future manpower requirementsOversee work of subcontractorsEnsure work complies with codes and permitsAdminister construction contracts, approve work quality and payment requestsReport to owner and general contractor about progress and any necessary modifications requiredRecommend improvements in project management procedures and overall company business practices Job QualificationsDemonstrated ability with AutoCAD, AlarmCAD or other specialized fire alarm layout softwareProven ability and track record of performing work in a timely manner and meeting deadlinesSupervisory experience is a plusThree years’ experience in commercial. industrial, and residential design is preferredMust be detail-oriented and skilled in free hand and mechanical lettering and drawingsWilling to coordinate and work well with othersExcellent communication skills-written and verbalAbility to regularly travel overnight, with or without reasonable accommodationWilling to pass a post-offer drug test, background and reference checkAll qualified applicants with Western States Fire Protection Inc. will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity, national origin or status as a qualified individual with a disability or protected veteran.VEVRAA Federal Contractor
