At our facility we do a casting process that melts down the magnesium which then molds it into slabs. This role focuses heavily on legacy equipment, including ovens and furnaces, and requires strong systems control experience. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and comfortable working with a mix of older and upgraded technologies.Primary Responsibilities: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical issues for casting and rolling mill equipment, including motors, drives, control panels, and instrumentationMaintain and support legacy electrical systems, including relay logic, older PLCs, and hardwired controlsWork with ovens and furnaces, including temperature control systems, burners, and associated safety circuitsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentationPerform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize downtimeInstall, test, and commission electrical components during system upgradesSupport and troubleshoot PLC systems and HMI interfacesCollaborate with technical teams to improve equipment reliability and performanceEnsure compliance with safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), NFPA 70E, and plant proceduresRespond to breakdowns and provide timely resolution to production issuesAbility to work extended hours during equipment breakdown situationsOn time & regular attendance at workEducation and Qualifications:Electrician Certification Required Experience with PLC's, Drives, 480 Volt 3 phase, 4160, 250 Volt DC, reading Blueprints and TroubleshootingMaintain and support legacy electrical systems, including relay logic, older PLCs, and hardwired controlsMust be willing to work Monday-Friday 1st shift (Day Shift)Affiliated experience of at least 3 to 5 years with outstanding troubleshooting and technical aptitude -military experience acceptableExcellent interpersonal and communication abilityFamiliarity with schematic and electrical diagrams/illustrationsOutstanding understanding of safety, health, and environment regulationsAbility to interact well with all levels of employeesProven experience as an electricianWorking knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)Understanding of production proceduresAnalytical skillsAttention to detailTeamwork and communication skillsWork Environment & Physical Requirements Industrial setting with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and heavy machineryWork around high-temperature equipment such as furnaces and ovensAbility to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbsWillingness to work shifts, overtime, and on-call, only as neededWe are committed to a safe, drug-free work environment and pre-employment drug screening, physical and background checks are required prior to starting.
