Role DescriptionThis is a full-time hybrid role as an Applications Engineer at Tektronix in Beaverton, OR.Our Applications Engineers are responsible for providing technical support, code development, product recommendations and testing services to drive innovation and quality in products and solutions alongside our customers world wide.This position is suitable for an entry-level engineer with limited, but applicable, work experience and academic credentials, or a new graduate with applicable practical experience and curriculum. Applications Engineering will allow you to gain electrical test and measurement instrumentation knowledge and hone your engineering skills, while working with experts in our Beaverton headquarters and partnering with our customers. After initial immersion, typically 1-3 years, opportunities will be available to advance your career on a multitude of teams throughout Tektronix, such as Field Applications Engineering, Product Development and Sales.QualificationsBachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering or equivalent degreeDemonstrable understanding/experience in using Test & Memory equipment: Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, SourceMeters, DMMsEngineering experience in basic test and measurement techniques and principles (probing, capacitance and loading effects on circuits, I-V characterization, general semiconductor/transistor testing).Laboratory, R&D, or industrial test and measurement experience preferred, including university laboratory exercises and projects focused on signal-oriented test and measurement.Programming experience to include expertise with at least one high-level language (Python, C-sharp, VB, Labview). MS Office suite understanding required.Demonstrates excellent customer communication skills, and possesses detail-orientation needed to track multiple, complex customer interactions quickly and accurately. Sales experience desired but not required.A passion for teamwork and strong desire for learningExceptional communication and interpersonal skills that foster high-value relationships with both customers and the extended Tektronix/Keithley Team. Exhibits above average ability to communicate technical concepts and obtain information indirectly (Phone, e-mail, etc.).Must support the capturing of knowledge – competitive information, applications, product capabilities – into knowledge database.
