Automotive Technician
Job Description
The candidate will follow written and verbal test and inspection instructions. Responsibilities include adjusting valves manually or via computer on controlled parameters as outlined in test procedures or instructions. The candidate will communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and project leaders regarding tests, as well as prepare, extract, and label specimens according to test procedures and instructions.Duties also include performing routine engine and stand maintenance. This involves engine tune-ups, fluid changes, transmission removals, cylinder head removal, tire removal and replacement, fuel tank removal and cleaning, and injector removal and replacement. Additional responsibilities include stand maintenance, test engine and pump installations and removals, and pump removals and disassembly.The candidate will use diagnostic tools such as scanners and voltage meters via computers to troubleshoot poor engine or stand performance. Fabrication and plumbing duties are also required. A clean work environment must be maintained, and compliance with all safety standards and regulations is expected.Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredKnowledge of basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculating percentagesAbility to use computers for data entry and test diagnosticsAbility to recognize automotive engines, automotive fluids, and engine accessories and their basic functionsAbility to use and interpret engine manuals, test instructions, and schematicsAbility to identify poor engine or stand performance and seek necessary assistanceAbility to lift 50 pounds with assistanceMust adhere to all safety requirements and practicesMust be able to work in potentially hazardous environments with high noise levels, high heat, and fumesAbility to perform mechanical tasks and functions as instructedAbility to work independently with limited supervision while communicating effectively with othersProficient in using hand and power toolsMinimum of two years of automotive experience requiredMust wear steel toe shoesMust be able to clear a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)Additional InformationUniform will be provided in accordance with the dress codeProject operates 24/7 with 8-hour rotating shiftsMust be able to work both day and night shifts as neededMust be available to work weekends and holidaysWill be required to monitor multiple tests concurrentlyOvertime may be required in coordination with the project leader and team-related groupsSafety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toe shoes must be worn at all timesJoin the Cross Resource Group Team!At Cross Resource Group, we value our employees and are dedicated to providing a rewarding and inclusive work environment.
