Service Manager - Commercial HVAC/Plumbing
Position OverviewThe Service Manager will lead and grow a high-performing service organization responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing systems. This role focuses on delivering reliable, safe, and cost-effective service to commercial clients by managing technicians, optimizing preventative maintenance programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational profitability and customer satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor and supervise a team of service technicians and supervisors specializing in commercial HVAC and plumbing systems, including hiring, performance reviews and career development.Plan, schedule and dispatch service calls and preventative maintenance (PM) work to ensure timely, efficient coverage of commercial accounts and minimize downtime for customers.Oversee diagnostics, repair and installation work to ensure quality workmanship, adherence to specifications, and compliance with building codes and safety standards.Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs tailored to commercial HVAC and plumbing equipment to extend asset life and reduce emergency repairs.Manage customer relationships, communicate service plans and status updates, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.Monitor service KPIs, control labor and material costs, prepare budgets, and drive improvements in profitability and operational efficiency.Coordinate with sales, estimating, and project teams to transition new accounts into ongoing service and to support contract renewals and upsell opportunities.Maintain parts and inventory control, authorize purchases as needed, and ensure technicians have the tools and materials required for efficient service delivery.Respond to emergency service calls and provide escalation support during after-hours incidents as needed.Enforce company safety policies and procedures, deliver safety training, and maintain records for compliance and audits.Qualifications5+ years of progressive experience in commercial HVAC and plumbing service operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.Strong technical background in HVAC, mechanical systems and commercial plumbing with hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing complex equipment.Proven experience developing and managing preventative maintenance programs for commercial facilities.Familiarity with codes, regulations, and safety standards applicable to commercial HVAC and plumbing systems; relevant licenses or certifications (e.g., EPA Section 608, state plumbing/mechanical licenses) are highly preferred.Demonstrated leadership and people-management skills, including hiring, coaching and performance management.Experience using service management software/CMMS, scheduling tools and mobile field service applications.Excellent customer service, communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to interact professionally with building owners, facility managers and subcontractors.Strong organizational skills with experience managing budgets, tracking KPIs and improving operational efficiency.Valid drivers license and willingness to respond to after-hours emergencies when required.Ability to work in commercial and mechanical environments; physical ability to inspect equipment and access mechanical rooms.BenefitsCompetitive Pay: $110k - $150kLucrative BonusHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsurancePaid Time OffPaid HolidaysRetirement Plans Email Your Resume In Word ToKayton.Nimmo@CyberCoders.comLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
