Characteristics of WorkInterested in this role You can find all the relevant information in the description below.Under general supervision the incumbent performs daily housekeeping and cleaning tasks and operates various types of cleaning equipment to maintain a properly presentable facility for all assigned building and performs related work as required.Essential FunctionsThese essential functions include, but are not limited to the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the Agency.Moves and arranges furniture, equipment and supplies as needed.Sets up and takes down tables and chairs for events in meeting rooms as needed.Cleans up meeting room completely and arranges back to its original order and condition.Picks up waste from grounds as needed daily.Empties and cleans outdoor ashtrays/wastebaskets, and indoor trash cans, daily.Dust and damp mops tile floors or vacuums carpeted floors as needed.Inspects several times daily and cleans as necessary; restrooms, break room and meeting rooms.Clean up spills quickly.Removes empty boxes and trash at the end of the day.Maintains janitorial supplies and equipment, and janitorial storage area.Maintains thermostat settings at temperatures recommended by Entergy.Notifies supervisor of deficiencies, unsafe conditions and need for maintenance or repair.Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor.QualificationsIncumbent must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent and possess one (1) year experience in custodial work.Special RequirementsManual dexterity skills.Ability to lift 50 pounds infrequently.Willingness to work day, afternoon and evening shifts.Hinds County Human Resource Agency will provide reasonable accommodations for any known disability that an otherwise qualified employee might have, to assist the employee to perform essential job duties, provided that these accommodations do not result in an undue hardship for the Agency.This job description should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive standards for the position.
