Join our team to experience what it's like to work at "one of the best places to work in the metro Atlanta".About this PositionWe are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions that support enterprise analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. This role will be responsible for building and optimizing ETL pipelines, data marts, and modern lakehouse architectures within a Databricks and AWS environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, SQL, cloud-based data platforms, and data modeling, along with experience collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products.The salary range for this role is $130k - $135k.This position is not eligible for employment sponsorship, now or in the future.Responsibilities & QualificationsResponsibilitiesDesign and implement ETL processes and data architecture to support the correct functioning of the analytics environment, as well as client and third-party reporting environments and dashboardsOwn end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of data marts to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence needsCollaborate with business and technology stakeholders to support the development, enhancement, and effective utilization of lakehouse and medallion architecturesPerform the design, development, and extension of data marts, metadata, data models and data products, aligning with organizational data strategyEnsure all data engineering and data pipeline code artifacts are maintained in a version control systemAssist with the integration of data solutions into applications and downstream systemsParticipate in Agile processes including ScrumUse AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to assist in rapid prototyping and developmentMentoring of junior engineers, including development best-practices, code reviews and ensuring appropriate usage of JiraEssential Skills, Knowledge, and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experienceMinimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology, with strong hands-on experience in Data Engineering and enterprise data solutionsHands-on data engineering experience with Databricks, preferably within the AWS ecosystemAdvanced understanding of the Databricks platform, including notebook development, workflow/job orchestration, data ops (i.e. IaC, DABs), cluster management, and scalable data processingExperience with AWS services such as Amazon S3, EC2, Lambda, IAM and other cloud-native data technologiesStrong programming skills in Python and SQL, and other modern programming languages as neededAdvanced knowledge of database modeling, particularly with IBM DB2, Databricks and Mongo DBAdvanced SQL skills, including query tuning and performance optimizationExperience with relational databases such as SQL Server and IBM DB2Proficiency with debugging, troubleshooting, and applying appropriate design patternsStrong understanding of data engineering principles, including data ingestion, transformation, pipeline development, and data movementExperience with Data Governance platforms, such as CollibraPreferred Skills, Knowledge, and ExperienceExperience with streaming platforms such as Kafka, AWS KinesisExperience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI or TableauExperience with data virtualization technologiesExperience creating and maintaining test data for lower environmentsExperience with Kubernetes and Terraform is a plusExperience with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or similar AI toolingKnowledge of Palantir would be a plusComfortable working with analysts and business stakeholders to understand data needs and requirementsFLSA status:This position is exempt (not eligible for overtime pay):YesOur Benefits:Day one health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) Plan with competitive employer matchVacation, sick, holiday and volunteer time offLife and disability insuranceFlexible Spending Account & Health Savings AccountProfessional developmentTuition reimbursementCompany-sponsored social and philanthropy eventsIt has been and will continue to be the policy of Primerica, Inc., and its subsidiaries to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
