Avionics Technician III

SummaryAs an Avionics Technician III, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform avionics maintenance according to FCC, FAA and company policies and regulations. You'll be responsible for installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing avionics components, and maintaining test equipment, tools, and manuals. This is a safety sensitive position responsible for the safety or security of people or property. Duties may include inspecting, handling, or transporting explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials; inspecting structures, equipment or vehicles; performing aviation related duties; and operating or supervising vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery.ResponsibilitiesInstalling, testing, troubleshooting and repairing avionics componentsMaintaining test equipment, tools, and manualsInspecting, handling, or transporting explosives, dangerous or hazardous materialsInspecting structures, equipment or vehiclesPerforming aviation related dutiesOperating or supervising vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machineryPhysical / Mental / Emotional RequirementsFrequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and stepsFrequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterityFrequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colorsFrequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumesOccasionally lifting or carrying up to 50 lbsWorking ConditionsFrequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materialsFrequently exposed to loud noisesRequirementsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experienceA higher-level degree may substitute for experienceRelated experience may be considered in lieu of required educationMust have own tools in good working orderAbility to understand and interpret basic applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publicationsAbility to route wires per technical drawingsAdvanced skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering, and crimping techniquesPreferred:Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROLBasic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or pitot static equipmentBackground in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US MilitaryAbility to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required
