Our experienced legal team is committed to delivering exceptional, client-focused representation.Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced, highly proactive, and litigation-focused Family Law Attorney to join our growing practice. The role involves managing sophisticated family law matters, including dissolution, custody disputes, support matters, adoption, and complex asset division.The ideal candidate will have a strong family law background, substantial litigation and courtroom experience, including trial work, and be comfortable independently leading cases from start to finish. This includes drafting motions, conducting depositions, representing clients in court, and managing sophisticated matters with professionalism and care.Our office is based in Foster City, CA, and candidates should reside in the Bay Area and be available for in-person court appearances, depositions, client meetings, and other firm needs as required. Outside of required in-person commitments, employees may work in a hybrid or remote capacity.Key Responsibilities:Counsel: Provide expert legal advice and representation in family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and property division, and advise clients regarding legal rights, options, and potential outcomes.Manage: Manage cases proactively, anticipate next steps, and drive matters forward efficiently.Research: Conduct legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, declarations, and correspondence relevant to family law matters.Drafting: Draft and review legal documents including marital settlement agreements, parenting plans, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and other court filings, while ensuring work product is prepared thoroughly and in a timely manner.Advocacy: Represent clients in family court proceedings, including hearings, settlement conferences, mediations, and trials, while negotiating favorable outcomes.Organization: Maintain a high level of organization, including proactively tracking deadlines, court calendars, and deliverables.Clients: Build and maintain strong client relationships through compassionate, responsive, and strategic legal support during emotionally complex situations.Collaboration: Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management and exceptional client service across all matters.Qualifications:Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Licensure: Active California State Bar license.Experience:Minimum of 5 years of family law experience with substantial courtroom and litigation exposure.Proven ability to manage sophisticated family law matters and achieve strong client outcomes.Location: Resides in the Bay Area and is available for in-person court appearances, depositions, and firm needs as required.Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Analysis: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Organization & Accountability: Highly organized with strong ownership over assigned matters, including proactively managing deadlines, court calendars, and upcoming deliverables.Professionalism: High level of professionalism and ethical standards.Benefits:Competitive salary between $175,000 and $250,000 depending on experience and qualifications.Performance-based bonuses.Health, dental, and vision insurance.Retirement plan (401(k)).Paid time off and holidays.Home utility and cell phone allowances.Opportunities for professional development and continuing education.Supportive and inclusive work environment.Laughlin Legal, PC is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.
