Senior Product Designer (Remote)

The organization also serves the education community through research and advocacy on behalf of students, educators, and schools.We are seeking a Senior Product Designer – UX Research on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote.Please submit your portfolio and LINKS (with password if applicable) ResponsibilitiesFacilitate product discovery and contribute to design strategy across complex assessment and platform ecosystemsApply design thinking methodologies to identify user needs, reframe problems, and create scalable, user-centered solutionsConduct and synthesize generative, formative, and evaluative user research through interviews, usability testing, surveys, and workshopsFacilitate co-creation sessions and workshops to align cross-functional teams and uncover opportunitiesTranslate user, behavioral, and operational data into actionable product and design insightsInfluence prioritization and roadmap discussions by aligning user needs with business and organizational goalsAdvocate for human-centered, inclusive, and accessible design practicesCommunicate design vision and strategy through effective storytelling and presentationsCollaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and stakeholders to deliver production-ready designsCreate user flows, sitemaps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designsApply and contribute to design systems to ensure visual and functional consistencyWrite and validate content using plain language and accessibility best practicesConduct usability testing, A/B testing, and accessibility audits to validate design decisionsDesign responsive, mobile-first experiences for web and native mobile applicationsExperiment with generative AI tools to support ideation and prototypingTranslate design decisions into clear implementation specifications for engineering teamsParticipate in Agile ceremonies, including standups, sprint planning, design reviews, and QA cyclesContribute to shared design operations, systems, templates, and organizational design initiativesMap and simplify complex data systems and workflows to improve usability and clarityCollaborate closely with engineering teams and provide consultative guidance to stakeholders with limited design experienceSkills And QualificationsSubmit portfolio and LINKS (with password if applicable) Strong experience designing for complex, content-rich websites and applicationsStrong product design mindset with experience balancing strategic thinking and hands-on executionExperience in understanding, mapping, and simplifying complex data systems and workflowsStrong proficiency in user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI design, and information architectureProficiency with Figma, Miro, Dovetail, and related design and collaboration toolsExperience conducting generative and evaluative research methods, including usability testing and interviewsStrong facilitation and workshop leadership skillsStrong understanding of design systems, responsive design, and accessibility standardsExperience designing for web and native mobile platformsAbility to collaborate effectively with engineers and understand technical constraintsStrong communication, presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder management skillsStrong consultative and teaching abilities when working with cross-functional teams unfamiliar with design processesCommitment to inclusive, ethical, and user-centered designExperience writing and testing content using plain language principlesExperience using generative AI tools for design ideation and prototypingStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teamsHighly adaptable and comfortable navigating evolving priorities and complex environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience working within large-scale platform, assessment, education, or enterprise environmentsExperience collaborating in Agile product development environmentsFamiliarity with front-end technologies and implementation considerationsExperience contributing to organization-wide design operations or systems initiativesWe offer a competitive salary range for this position.
