Position Title: Staff Accountant (Accounts Payable Focus)Location: Madison, ALClearance Requirements: NonePosition Status: Full-TimePay Rate: $70,000 annuallyPosition DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and growth-driven Staff Accountant to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role offers a strong blend of Accounts Payable, general accounting, and financial reporting, making it ideal for professionals looking to expand into full-cycle accounting.You’ll play a key role in managing high-volume AP operations while gaining exposure to ERP systems, cost accounting, month-end close, and financial analysis. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career in a collaborative and performance-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable & Operational AccountingProcess high-volume vendor invoices across raw materials, supplies, and servicesPerform three-way matching (PO, receipt, invoice) to ensure accuracyCollaborate with Purchasing and Receiving to resolve invoice discrepanciesMaintain and update vendor master data within ERP systemsExecute payment runs (ACH, wire transfers, checks)Reconcile vendor statements and manage AP aging reportsSupport cash flow management and working capital optimizationEnsure compliance with internal controls, policies, and audit requirementsGeneral Accounting & Financial OperationsSupport month-end and year-end close processesPrepare journal entries, including accruals and adjustmentsReconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variancesAssist with financial reporting and management analysisSupport internal and external auditsMaintain accurate and organized financial documentationIdentify and drive process improvements and automation opportunitiesRequired Skills / EducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2–5 years of accounting experience (manufacturing industry preferred)Strong experience in high-volume Accounts Payable environmentsHands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)Strong understanding of GAAP principles and internal controlsHigh attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skillsExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilitiesProven ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environmentGrowth mindset with a desire to expand into broader accounting functionsAbout Seneca ResourcesAt Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm—we are a trusted career partner.
