Speech-Language Pathology Assistant

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in a school-based setting. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders, working collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations using standardized and informal assessment toolsDevelop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and Texas state regulationsProvide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to students with communication disordersCollaborate with teachers, special education staff, psychologists, and families to support student progressMaintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluation reports, progress notes, and billing recordsParticipate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings and contribute to goal developmentProvide consultation and training to school staff regarding communication strategies and accommodationsMonitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as neededEnsure compliance with IDEA, Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidelines, and district policiesSupport Response to Intervention (RTI) processes when applicableManage caseload and scheduling effectively within assigned schoolsMinimum Qualifications (State of Texas Requirements)Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited programValid Texas Speech-Language Pathologist License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred (or Clinical Fellowship candidate eligible)Eligible for or holding a valid Texas Education Agency (TEA) certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (may be required by district)Knowledge of IDEA, special education processes, and ARD committee proceduresStrong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and abilitiesPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience in a school-based settingBilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred but not requiredExperience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systemsFamiliarity with teletherapy platforms (if applicable)Working ConditionsSchool-based environment across one or multiple campusesMay require travel between campuses within the districtRegular collaboration with staff, students, and families
